Folks,
After taking it out of storage after 9 months, I have refitted my 10GHz transverter box and feed back on the 2.3m dish. I have had to sort out a few issues, but it seems to be working quite well on receive. I still need to do a few things to the transmit side.
I measured 12.6dB sun noise this afternoon and ~1dB moon noise. The beacon is a consistent -4dBJT. This seems to be several dB stronger than I recall when previously monitoring the beacon. Is anyone else getting stronger beacon reception since the recent changes, and if so, by how much?
2.3m dish, vertical linear feed with Kumar choke, DU3T LNA

Oh, I remember working Lee, Crossband 10/6m back in Sunspot Cycle 21. I
have a recording of her and that unmistakable "drawl" somewhere!
Must dig it out.
Rest in Peace, Lee.

Fast forward to around 2.0 minutes to hear Lee making her first 28/50MHz

I’m sure she is the 1st female with a 1296 WAS. Congratulation! A couple of years ago, Al K2UYH, obtained WAS #3 on 1296 after some 3 of 4 decades of trying. The only others on that select list were W5LUA and K5JL who made the it some time ago. Knowing all of the folks that K2UYH has helped, it was gratifying to see K2UYH on it because of his dedication to EME, assistance to others, and determination.
In that same regard, I believe that Chris, W4FIG, is the first and so far only, female with a 10 GHz VUCC award. Chris is the XYL of Jimmy, W4ZRZ (now an SK). So, there’s fertile territory there for others for the 10 GHz VUCC plus unplowed fields of opportunities for female VUCC’s for 24, 47, and 122 GHz.
Next for the record book? 73’s… Ben/K4QF
David,
I am certain that Linda is the 1st. The 1296 MHz WAS list is very short.
As a side note, I completed WAS on 432 MHz on May 9th.
Exciting times for WAS activity thanks to KA6U - Peter.

Hi folks - from The Front Range 6 Meter Group
A real treat to have *Lance W7GJ* back again to update all of us on the
latest new Q65 feature that makes it easier to work EME pileups on 6 Meters.
For months now Lance and others have been trialing the latest Q65 feature
which will be coming out in WSJT-X version 2.7 soon. Lance will give us
insight from the perspective of an EME DXpedition and how we can expect to
operate with this new addition to K1JT's WSJT-X.
*The Zoom link is below.* We will be opening the Zoom 30 minutes early at
6:30 PM Mountain Daylight Savings Time, Wed May 10, 2023 to allow folks to
adjust their audio and cameras and to chat. Presentation starts 7:00 PM
MDT. This Zoom will be recorded and posted on our YouTube page for those
who cannot attend.
