I have been playing with a new Triquint ULNA device (TQP3M9036). It
Shows a lot of promise. It is like a MAR or MSA device in that it is
50ohm in and out. and has a claimed NF about .4db nf ( their numbers).
I have built several pramps to test them and have gotten even better
than they claim and they cover 50-1296 with ease and NF is .4ish or
below. The S11 and S22 are both great and the OIP3 is +35db also
...very nice device. It has great promise as a good terrestrial LNA.
Preamps are foolproof to build and would cost under $50 if all the best
quality parts are used.
Just for information only ...

G4RFR intends to be on 10368.2MHz Q65E this Wednesday from about 12:30z,
but with only 10W as we have problems with the big twt.

Hi ALL
Last activity, 23xx MHz, from TK/HB9CRQ. In the morning we had lots of clouds and only little wind. By noon we had splendid sunshine and only weak wind. Throughout the afternoon the wind picked up and helped a bit to keep us from getting too hot. All equipment was working well and we enjoyed our last activity hours from Corsica.
On 23xx we worked a total of 19 initials, 24 QSOs, 21 in Q65C and 3 in CW. This gives us a total QSO count of 152 for the 4 bands. We are very happy with this result. Many thanks to all who worked us or tried to work us!

Hello all,
I am looking for a dish with a diameter of around 1-1.5m diameter which
would be suitable for 10GHz and possibly 24GHz. I am currently located in
Germany, so sourcing from nearby would be great.
I would be interested in a waveguide feed for 10GHz too, preferably WR90 as
I already have some on hand.

I tested updated 70cm EME station this morning. Worked very well. Strong
signals to and from EU.
I can run both H and V polarization on 70cm. "Open truck door, walk
quickly to antennas, twist, twist...only during RX".
When I started planning this trip I estimated $3000 for diesel fuel. The
estimate is now $8000 and I think we may even see $10 per gallon prices by
September.
If anyone would like to contribute toward the fuel cost you can use my

Hi ALL
Today we have set-up for 23xx. Our RX test showed only little QRM from WIFI on 2320, 2304 and 2400. So it should be no problem to work EME on all three subsegments. TX is working fine on 2320 and 2304 (no TX on 2400).
The last activity:
31. May (Tuesday)
2320.100 Q65-60C TK/HB9CRQ 1st RX on own echo, 04.45z until 14.00z
2304.100 (during W/VE window, QSY will be announced on HB9Q 23xx logger)
and 2400.100 for JA6AHB (QSY will be announced on 23xx logger)
CW: As always, we will work CW on all bands. However only with big-enough stations and after the pile-up on Q65 is worked.
Equipment (as always):
1.5m dish 1x2mm mesh, homemade automatic az/el control
23xx: 90W at feed, circular, preamp at horn
We will be using WSJT-X 2.5.4. On 23 and 13cm we use Q65-60C with Doppler Control (“Own Echo”, in other words we listen on our own echo). Hopefully more people take advantage of automated Doppler control.
We have internet access. During our activity we’ll be stand-by on the HB9Q band logger. We also will check our e-mails several times a day.
How big needs your station to be to work us?
On 13cm 2m dish and 100W at the feed

We plan on setting up our portable 70cm EME station in Kentucky-USA at
Bob's (KA4CTW) QTH over the next weekend June 4-5. This is at the request
of EME contacts that are trying for WAS. Moon rise for us is at 14:20Z on
Sat 6/4 and 15:23Z on Sun 6/5. We will try to be on the moon for most of
the day. We will be using "logger.HB9Q.ch"

Hi ALL
Today we started our 1296 MHz activity at 03.45z. This morning again no wind, until three hours before moonset, when it became very gusty again. We could operate all the time with no problems. The temperature was again very nice starting at 16C at moonrise and going up to 27° at midafternoon. We had a great time operating, having enough takers most of the time, often more than one at the same time. The conditions were quite good. Before noon we worked initial #50 with which we completed WAC! We have worked on 1296 MHz a total of 69 initials, a total of 75 QSOs, 71 Q65D and 4 CW.
The last activity:
31. May (Tuesday)
2320.100 Q65-60C TK/HB9CRQ 1st RX on own echo, 04.45z until 14.00z
2304.100 (during W/VE window, QSY will be announced on HB9Q 23xx logger)
2301.990 and 2400.100 (on request only, please send e-mail to dan(a)hb9q.ch <mailto:dan@hb9q.ch> )
CW: As always, we will work CW on all bands. However only with big-enough stations and after the pile-up on Q65 is worked.
Equipment (as always):
1.5m dish 1x2mm mesh, homemade automatic az/el control
1296: 100W at feed, circular, preamp at horn
23xx: 90W at feed, circular, preamp at horn
5760: 80W at feed, circular, preamp at horn
10xxx: 50W at feed, v-pol, preamp at horn
We will be using WSJT-X 2.5.4. On 23 and 13cm we use Q65-60C with Doppler Control (“Own Echo”, in other words we listen on our own echo). On 6 and 3cm we will be using Q65-60D (if necessary JT4F) including Doppler Control (“Constant Frequency On Moon” and if necessary “Full Doppler to DX Grid”). Hopefully more people take advantage of automated Doppler control. Especially on 6 and 3cm it is a MUST for successful QRP operations.
We’ll have internet access. During our activities we’ll be stand-by on the HB9Q band loggers. We also will check our e-mails several times a day.
How big needs your station to be to work us?

On 3cm 0.75m solid dish with 60W at the feed
