I have been playing with a new Triquint ULNA device (TQP3M9036). It
Shows a lot of promise. It is like a MAR or MSA device in that it is
50ohm in and out. and has a claimed NF about .4db nf ( their numbers).
I have built several pramps to test them and have gotten even better
than they claim and they cover 50-1296 with ease and NF is .4ish or
below. The S11 and S22 are both great and the OIP3 is +35db also
...very nice device. It has great promise as a good terrestrial LNA.
Preamps are foolproof to build and would cost under $50 if all the best
quality parts are used.

Hi all,
I’m ready on 6cm with the same dish I’m using on 3cm.
Despite the strong local 5 GHz WiFi noise, had a nice 579/569 first QSO with this setup today with HB9Q, thank you Dan !
Setup is a 3.7m dish and 60W at CP feeder.
I can be QRV on 6cm or 3cm most of the days, skeds and tests are very welcome, as usual.

Hello to Lunatics.
Owners of RAS 1deg. and RAS 0.5 deg. rotators and Rot2Prog controllers
can try my free Ras Moon Tracker program.
Program was fully tested with RAS 1deg. rotator by me, because I have
it and use it.
Program can be downloaded here :

Program do not required any installation, open archive and extract

Does anyone have feedback from one of these 2 devices?
It sounds interesting but I'm looking for someone who has this kind of
device to exchange feedback, especially with the use of MAP65 (setup -
configuration).

After using WSJT V9 for a few years I recently started using WSJT-X as a
second decoder. Sometimes it is better, sometimes not. It has the advantage
that it decodes when one station is calling another (V9 only does this for
strong stations).
One issue I am having is that the Average window in X sometimes shows
stations that I decoded way earlier...sometimes an hour or more earlier and
on a different frequency.
If I click Clear Avg or double-click Erase, the window clears. But a while
later, old decodes once again start to show up in the Average window.
V9 does not have this problem.
I have been using V2.0...today I moved to V2.1.2 and maybe that will be
better. Waiting for MR here.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior?
Does anyone know if that was a bug in the earlier version and fixed in
2.1.2 or can some one suggest what setting I may have set incorrectly?
Thanks & 73,
Doug K1DG
I've been running MAP65/Linrad/FCDPro+ for many
years now and do so simultaneously with WSJT-10
on an AMD Athlon II X2 B24 processor running at
3.00 gHz and with 6 GB of RAM. Win 10 64 bit Pro Edition.
I've generally found no issues running the above
software (mostly for JT65 EME work) but I also use WSJT-x for 6 meter FT8.
In any case, my experience has been that MAP65
performs better with the FCD+ if I use Linrad as
the "intermediary" (network) as opposed to not
using Linrad. I believe the difference to be the
superior noise blanker performance more than
anything but admittedly, this isn't empirical evidence but rather anecdotal

VE6TA and KL6M completed the first Alaskan 33cm EME QSO last evening on
CW. K5DOG and KL6M completed the first AK to TX JT65 QSO on 33cm. This
was with only a DownEast 40 watt amplifier at my end.
Photos of the KL6M TX equipment here:
https://kl6m.com/33cm/33txconv.html Reception was with a AR-5000 and
ATF54143 W6PQL LNA
A short video of the VE6TA signal here:

I had two Motorola 300 watt bricks which were both defective so I
decided to try it with only 40 watts. Grant amazingly picked out my
signal and gave me a 449 report and I responded with 559.
K5DOG was a whopping -14 on JT65. A fun and successful evening.

Mike,
Congrats! Gain of that dish makes a difference. What kind of NF
does a ATF54143 have?
I got one of the 900 MHz MOT 150w amps and it will only do 55w at
full drive. 1296/900/432 not set up since 2m array crash.

PS: been testing my pile of surplus preamps with HP8970B and sold a
few that I modified with NE334-S01 PHEMT's. Got as low as 0.18 dBNF
on 144 and 0.50 dB NF on 432. Modified some older DEMI preamps
getting under 0.94 NF with no ckt mods on 1296; just resistor changes
for biasing. Original device was marked "101" and originally tested 1.2 dBNF.
My new 2m WA2ODO (eme spare) which Pete tested at 0.08 dB NF, tested
with my NF meter at 0.10 dB so its pretty close for an un-calibrated
noise source.
QRT on eme with 50v PS problems.

Thank you to everyone in the EME community for their good wishes
following my accident, they were really appreciated by myself and by
Margaret.
I am now back home, recovering well, but due to the needs of exercise
and leg resting I cannot spend as much time sitting at the keyboard as I
would wish, so please excuse a general message to everyone at this time
rather than individual replies.
2020 has been a lousy year but let's think positive and see the glass
half full and look forward to lots of EME DX in 2021
Happy New Year to everyone.
